Known as “zöldike” (little green) or “csíkos csokros inda” (striped bouquet tendril) in Hungarian, this houseplant enjoys great popularity. It can survive in almost any kind of apartment, even in extreme conditions. It is easy to care for; even novice gardeners can do well with it. It has green and white striped thin leaves. The easiest way you can propagate it is with the small Spider Plant babies that appear over time at the end of its shoots. It has tiny white flowers.

Position it in semi-shade or bright light, because in too dark a place its bright colours may start to fade.

It is a plant with high water needs but, with its thickened roots, it can also withstand drought for a long time. If it dries out too much, the leaves will become dull.

Fun facts

Its original habitat is mainly found in tropical areas, so it prefers a humid environment, but it has also adapted perfectly to our continental climate. An ideal office plant, as excellently tolerates poorer conditions as well. However, with regular care it grows well and quickly. In summer, you can even grow it outdoors.
