It will be comfortable in a partially shaded spot or in bright location with filtered light.
Water it regularly, but don’t let the soil get soggy and never let it dry out completely either. Loves high humidity, which is one of the secrets to its beauty.
For watering it you can use filtered water or rainwater, too.
The Calathea species are native to Brazil.
