Grow it in a bright spot, protected from full sun.

Drought-tolerant. Wait until the soil gets completely dry between waterings. Provide it with well-draining soil that is rich in humus.

Its fruit are edible, brownish-green in colour, and the green fruit flesh has tiny black seeds in it. It tastes like gooseberry.

It can be found in areas of Mexico’s evergreen forests as an epiphytic (tree-dwelling) plant, especially in the areas of Guerrero, Jalisco and Oaxaca. Its fragrant flowers, mostly in shades of white or pale yellow, appear during winter.
